Sandisk (SNDK) reports strong Q3 FY2026 earnings, driving significant financial gains
Sandisk shares are trading up 4.2% today, reaching $1,142.39, following a strong Q3 FY2026 earnings report. The United States-based memory manufacturer reported significant financial gains, extending its recent positive trajectory.
The upward movement comes after Sandisk announced Q3 FY2026 revenue of $5.95 billion, marking a 251% year-on-year increase. Earnings per share stood at $23.41, surpassing analyst expectations by $9.00. This performance reflects sustained demand for AI infrastructure and a substantial increase in NAND flash memory prices, which TrendForce reported as surging 85-90% in Q1 2026.
Analysts have responded with upgrades. BofA raised its price target for Sandisk to $1,080 from $900, citing sustainable NAND pricing. Citi also increased its price target to $980. The company's stock has gained 287% year-to-date.
Why Surging Memory Prices Propel Sandisk's Performance
Sandisk designs and manufactures flash memory products, the tiny, critical components that store data in everything from your phone and laptop to vast data centres and artificial intelligence infrastructure. They essentially provide the digital storage backbone for a huge range of electronic devices, with their customers including major tech companies and hardware manufacturers who integrate these memory chips into their products. Their revenue comes from selling these high-performance memory solutions.
Today's significant move stems directly from the dramatic increase in the price of NAND flash memory, Sandisk's core product. The company reported a 251% year-on-year increase in Q3 FY2026 revenue to $5.95 billion, largely driven by this surge. TrendForce noted that NAND flash memory prices jumped by 85-90% in Q1 2026, creating a highly favourable market for producers like Sandisk, alongside robust demand from the AI sector.
This strong performance has seen Sandisk shares rise by 4.2% today, with the stock currently trading at $1,142.39, up from yesterday's close of $1,096.51.
Think of it like a bakery that specialises in a particular type of flour. If that flour suddenly becomes much more expensive due to high demand and limited supply, the bakery can charge significantly more for its bread and pastries, leading to a substantial boost in its sales and profits, even if it's selling a similar volume.
